25th Annual Southern Maine Christmas Parade scheduled for Sunday, December
14, 2008 was canceled because of severe ice storms. Local municipal
services were busy trying to provide emergency services for those who lost
power or had other damages due to fallen trees and tree limbs. With
much regret, we decided to cancel the parade in the interest of public
safety. |

This is the
25th year of the parade in Wells, Maine. Our
Grand Marshals are Dan Dickerson of Howe's Highway Floor Store and Gary
Leech of Congdon's Donuts. Our theme for this year's parade is "Christmas
Day."
Since
last year's theme was "The Night Before Christmas" for our 24th Annual
Parade (Christmas Eve is December 24th), we thought that we should continue
the tradition on our 25th Annual Parade by theming it simply "Christmas
Day."

The parade is hosted by the Wells Chamber
Of Commerce with support from the communities of Southern Maine.
The town of Wells, Maine generously donates funds to help with costs for
decorations for the parade. Last year's parade was a great success.
